Tips to Boost Your Social Media Presence as a Content Creator
3 mins read
Social media has become the primary platform for recognition and fame nowadays. It’s the most accessible to everyone, which means you as a streamer will also be able to utilize it well to promote your channel and streams. However, with the rise of multiple aspiring streamers, it can become difficult to stand-out within the different social media platforms. Thus, here are some helpful tips to guide you along.
1. Make as Many Pages As You Can Manage
Social media is growing every year, and new platforms are popping up left and right. If a streamer wants to stay relevant, they must be able to keep up with where the crowd is and what platforms are hot right now. The safest bet is to create channel pages for your content wherever you can. The key phrase there is “as you can manage”, because multiple social media pages are no joke. It can be exhausting to think of and plan out your posts when it’s supposed to be blasted out to 4 or 5 sites. Luckily, cross-posting is now possible, so you can just think of one kind of post content which will be sent out to multiple sites. You may also opt to hire social media managers so you can focus on streaming and content creation.
2. Engage As Much As Possible
Aside from posting on social media, another way of introducing yourself is via comment interactions and re-posts. Your fans will appreciate it a lot when you interact with them in any form, whether it’s a simple reply or a story re-post. Most of your community members just want to be noticed, and it’s a free gift you can give them which can influence them to keep supporting you.
You can also show your appreciation to your long-time viewers and subscribers through giveaways, meet-ups, and special tokens. This way, people will be incentivized to stay loyal and keep coming back to your streams.
3. Good Ol’ Advertising
Social media also has a paid marketing feature you can utilize. If you have the resources, you can opt to create special posts which will be included in the feeds of new users, so that you can start attracting more new audiences to your streams. Of course, this comes at a price, so if you’re just starting out, you’ll have to rely on engagement and word-of-mouth from your community. One helpful way is to promote certain aspects of your streams so that you’ll be able to attract different kinds of audiences. You can save clips of notable stream moments that you can share to your sites. Funny videos will go a long way in drawing people to your streams, so allow your community to save clips as well, so that they can keep sharing and make you more known to the public.
Marketing yourself will take work, time, and resources, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to draw in a larger audience than before. Keep at it; it’s all gonna be worth it.
